A DPI number is only a label: the pixel count decides how sharp a print can be. Upload portals check pixels and file size, not DPI.

Questions

How do I check a photo’s size in KB?

Choose the photo above. The checker shows the exact size in kB (or MB) and bytes. 1 MB is 1,000 kB here, as most upload portals count it.

What is DPI, and does it matter for an upload?

DPI (dots per inch) is a label stored in the file that tells a printer how large to print it. Upload portals check pixels and file size, not DPI. For a print, divide the pixels by the DPI to get inches.

Why does my photo show no DPI?

Screenshots, web exports and many apps don’t record one. The pixels are what count; the checker also shows the print size at 300 DPI.

How many pixels is a 35×45 mm photo?

413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI. A 2×2 inch photo is 600 × 600 pixels at 300 DPI.
